Short Film Programme 1: Retrospective
Various Artists
The first of two short film programmes featuring works that blur the boundaries between music and film from artists who cross and redefine those long held divisions. This programme focuses on the forebearers of filmic and musical innovation over the last 70 years.

Hope and Prey
Daniel Menche Vanessa Renwick
Life and death dramas unfold in the snowy American North, using three-screen documentary footage and a soundtrack by KYTN favourite, vocalist Daniel Menche.

Film Programme 4: Substitution
Various Artists
Acting at the minimum. Each film here substitutes one small thing for another, (ironically) transforming received meanings by the simplest of actions; often kind of funny too.

Why improvised music is so boring
Diego Chamy Jean-Luc Guionnet Seijiro Murayama
An improvisation that may or may not involve (typical) improvisation.

Multilogics and Poetics of Radical Transfeminism
Mijke van der Drift Nat Raha
Underlying radical transfeminism, as an urgent critique of binary essentialism and fixed identities, is the call for a new kind of thinking that can move between and integrate the truths of all lives in their transformations.

Shadowed Spaces Cumbernauld
Ikuro Takahashi Sean Meehan Tamio Shiraishi Denis Wood
A series of badly felted lock-ups and garages + multiple locations within the Megastructure – a purpose built town centre in one building, comprising (in the 50’s at least) of housing (never occupied), shops, apartments, a hotel, ice rink, police station and other amenities

Episode 1: A Film is a Statement
Every aspect of every film is always about more than just film. Or, as Godard said: a tracking shot is a moral issue. A cross between a festival, magazine and discussion about experimental artists’ films.

Catch-Wave ’05
Takehisa Kosugi
A new interpretation of Kosugi’s Catch-Wave, producing a cloud of fluctuating, hypnotic drones, in front of a backdrop of projected waves.
Encuentro Glasgow
Ultra-red
A public gathering that brings together local artists, musicians, activists, and community organisers.

Film Programme: Events
Benedict Drew Takehisa Kosugi Various Artists
Everyday objects and materials (rubber bands, paper, a sink, microphones) disabused of their inertia and made to speak for themselves in a kind of focusing in on the tiny, repetitive, almost unobserved (sonic/ visual) potential of everyday things put into motion.

Temporary outpost for an auditory figure
Brandon LaBelle
A temporary archive and research space tracing the ways in which sound and audition move through everyday life.
