Sgàire Wood is an otherworldly presence in the Glasgow art and club, fashion and music scenes. She makes lip-sync performances that deliberately confuse hyper-modern aesthetics with the ancient and folkloric. She brings about a deep historical and heightened present that somehow can contain both distorted spectres of fairy folk Irish mythology, fragmented and fetishised by an (allegedly) post-colonial world; and lip-sync high-energy hard-style remixes of iconic tearjerkers.
