Access

General Venue Access Information

Tramway has step free access to their public and performance spaces and automatic double-width main doors. Their upper floor, is accessible by an elevator. For more access details about Tramway please visit www.bit.ly/TramwayAccess  and https://www.tramway.org/access

Bathrooms

Tramway has two gender-neutral single-occupant wheelchair accessible facilities available in the main foyer and one in their quieter upper foyer. In addition, they have two sets of gender-neutral toilets in the main foyer, and two sets of gender-specific toilet facilities in the upper foyer

Cafe Bar

Tramway’s Café Bar offers a menu of sandwiches, soups, cakes, and hot and cold drinks. It is open during standard Tramway opening hours. Please note, the cafe bar closes half an hour before the building does.  Further information on the Tramway website

Train

Tramway is only 3 minutes by train from Glasgow Central Station. Take the train to Pollokshields East Station (Please note, this station is not accessible by wheelchair.)  For further information go to the Scotrail website or the Traveline Scotland website or call 0871 200 22 33.

Bus

The nearest bus stops are on Pollokshaws Road, about a 2 minute walk and served by many services including numbers 57, 57A simpliCity, 38, 38B, 38C simplicity, 3 simpliCITY, 4 and 59.

Underground

The nearest Subway stations are West Street (18 minute walk) and Bridge Street (20 minute walk). For further information visit the SPT website.

Bike

There is a bike hire station at Eglinton Toll, 5 minutes’ walk from Tramway. There is limited space to park your own bike in the venue.

Road

The M8 runs through the city, connecting north with the M80 and south with the M74 and M77. Exit at Juntion 20 onto Cook Street and turn right at the main road into Eglinton Street. Continue up Eglinton Street which becomes Pollokshaws Road for approx ¾ of a mile and turn right into Albert Drive at St Ninian’s Church.

Air

Glasgow International Airport is the closest airport to the city centre. Some main operators that fly into Glasgow International are Easy Jet, KLM, British Airways, Lufthansa, Emirates, and others.

The easiest way to get into the city centre from Glasgow International Airport is by bus:
Service 500 (First Group) – Services run roughly every 15 minutes and journey time from airport to the bus station is 25 minutes.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport is further away from the city centre. The main operator that flies into Glasgow Prestwick is Ryanair, from a variety of European locations.

The easiest way to get into the city centre from Glasgow Prestwick is by train. The railway station is accessible by a covered walkway to/from the airport. The journey from Glasgow Central Station to Glasgow Prestwick Airport takes around 40 minutes. There are two trains an hour from approximately 6:00am to 00:15am – Sundays 09:00am to 11:00pm. There are also bus services from Prestwick Airport. Service X77 (Stagecoach) – Services are regular and journey time from airport to Buchanan Street bus station is 50 minutes.

Tramway’s standard opening hours are:
Wednesday – Friday 11am – 5pm
Saturday 11am – 6pm
Sunday 11am – 5pm

Tramway’s phone line is manned from Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm (6pm on Saturdays).

Open later on performance nights.
