This event honoured those individuals who achieved the status of Icon during the period of 1986-1990. This was the era when Ballroom expanded out of New York to Philadelphia, Baltimore and DC and new houses were established. At a time when so many elders were lost to AIDS, these new Icons rose to take on leadership within the community.
Hosted by Derek Ebony Prada with Jack Mizrahi, 100 Icons were honoured in front of a further 200 leaders of the community from across the country. Each Icon honoured received a ring inscribed with their status and house, a personalised message, and featuring their birth stone.
