An open community meeting, structured so that the prevalent concerns impacting the ballroom community could be brought up by people attending, and discussed publicly. On the day, the meeting particularly focused on how community has experienced tremendous rates of death over the past 7/8 years and how that might be addressed. At the same time, there was discussion about how to resist becoming defined by specific oppressions, and to focus on what the community has to offer beyond a health narrative.

The meeting was the first in a series of similar national meetings that took place across the country, including Atlanta, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Dallas, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Chicago/Detroit, Rochester/Buffalo.
