What we wrote about it at the time: Who: Glaswegian ‘composersuperimposerperformerclown’ whose music is tracing an arc away from maximalist rock, through improvisation into some new hybrid arbitrary examination of documents and artefacts. What: A series of three different short performed situations and statements to be examined or judged from the most interesting young musician in Glasgow (we think). Past actions have involved chocolate, crisps (hidden) and bloated TV watching, dictaphones, a bag of coins, Alicia Key’s, blank tapes, scripted (stilted) dialogue, arbitrarily selected sounds, taped applause, the drinking five pints of water (quickly)…

Why: Iain’s music takes musique concrète techniques and uses them to slyly, arbitrarily, (sometimes) funnily but also pretty witheringly take apart consumerism and music production and show them as emotionally dependant, obsessive/compulsive, nihilistic and narcissistic.
