Paragon Ensemble / David Fennessy
The Scottish based Paragon Ensemble has commissioned David Fennessy to compose music for Instal, which will be performed during the evening. David Fennessy is one of the UK’s leading young composers. Having completed his Masters degree at the RSAMD in 1998 under the guidance of renowned Scottish composer James MacMillan, Fennessy has had his work performed in Italy, Ireland, USA, and Poland. Recent highlights have included the performance of his work Dead End by the RSNO in January 2001, as well as his piece graft being performed in Amsterdam by the Zephyr Quartet after its shortlist for the Gaudeamus music prize.
His piece is for piano, percussion, electric guitar and cello. Paragon will also be performing a piece by Bill Sweeney for PC and cello and a Stockhausen piece for solo sax.
We started documenting our events in 2003 so unfortunately there is no video or audio documentation of this performance. If you have a bootleg or any photos you’d like to share with us, we would love to see them: get in touch with us here.
