Collective Art Workshop

Collective Art Workshop

(Sex worker only) workshop led by the Hard Labour project from Scotland for Decrim

Be part of developing a massive visual timeline of sex worker resistance in Scotland.

  • We’re making a poster to wrap around the walls of Transmission Gallery in a public display (being shown August 2026) and for further public poster displays. It’ll chart both government laws and the impacts those have on our lives and all kinds sex worker resistance – from demos to day to day acts of kindness and solidarity.
  • The timeline will move all the way from the Contagious Diseases Act of 1864, through the present into a future of our dreams.
  • Join us for a chill but energising session where you can contribute both stories/ opinions/ anecdotes from your own working life & multi media visual art (paint, collage, inks etc) to the timeline.
  • Snacks provided

No booking required – folks are free to just drop by but need to have lived experience of sex work.

More about this event:

Scotland for Decrim is a grassroots campaign fighting for the full decriminalisation of sex work in Scotland. The campaign is led by current sex workers, alongside allies including former sex workers, intersectional feminists, academics, trade unionists, students, and organisations advocating for human rights, drug decriminalisation, LGBTQIA+ liberation, housing justice, and more.

This event is supported by Arika and is part our Local Organising programme.
