Adura Onashile

Adura Onashile is an actor, writer and director based in Glasgow. She began as a dancer, studying African dance in Senegal and Afro-Cuban dance in Cuba, and later trained at Dartington College of Arts. Those traditions still shape how she makes work. Across her work in theatre, film and television, that grounding has led to a cross-disciplinary practice, from formally ambitious theatre to socially engaged screen work. Her debut feature film, Girl, premiered at Sundance in 2023 and was nominated for a BAFTA and she is currently developing new work for stage and screen.

A headshot of Adura Onashile posed close to the camera with her hands clasped under her chin, making eye contact with the camera. Adura is a black woman with dark brown skin and eyes, and dark brown hair in a short natural style. She wears a pin striped white and blue shirt, orange trousers, small black geometric earrings and a single gold band bracelet.
