GARNETHILL CAMPUS ACCESSIBILITY

The Garnethill Campus sits on a very steep hill. People with mobility needs may require assistance and are advised to contact the School prior to arrival +44(0) 141 353 4500 or reception@gsa.ac.uk.

Accessible facilities are available in several buildings (Reid, Bourdon, Stow), including passenger and platform lifts and kerbs which have been lowered in the streets surrounding the School. Wheelchair access to some areas within some of Garnethill Campus buildings is restricted and some areas within the School’s buildings are inaccessible to those who are unable to manage stairs. Assistance will be provided where required.

Parking restrictions are in operation in the Garnethill area and the School does not have parking available for visitors.

Lecture Theatre Locations

The Bourdon Lecture Theatre and The Reid Lecture Theatre are located at The Glasgow School of Art Garnethill Campus.

The Bourdon Lecture Theatre (Second Floor), is located in the GSA Bourdon Building, Scott Street, Glasgow G3 6RQ

The Reid Lecture Theatre is located in the Reid Building, 164 Renfrew Street, Glasgow, G3 6RQ

Travel Information

Rail & Subway

The Glasgow School of Art Garnethill Campus is approximately 20 minutes walk from Glasgow’s Central and Queen Street mainline railway stations. The nearest local railway station is Charing Cross and the nearest subway station is Cowcaddens.

Bus & Taxi

The School is easily accessed from all major approach roads, including the M8 motorway, and only 20 minutes by bus or taxi from Glasgow International Airport.  It is well served by buses going to and from Glasgow City Centre. You can plan your bus journey on the First Bus website.

Car & Parking Information

As the campus is centrally located, with good public transport links, individuals are generally discouraged from bringing their cars to the GSA.

Car parking in the streets surrounding the GSA is subject to a voucher system operated by the City Council (from 8am to 10pm every day). Vouchers may be purchased at local participating shops. The nearest public car parks are located at Cambridge Street, Concert Square (next to Buchanan Bus Station), Dundasvale (next to Stewart Street Police Station) or Sauchiehall Street (access via Bath Street). All these public car parks contain accessible parking spaces.
