Common Treasury
Common Treasury are a Glasgow based wealth redistribution group.
They say:
We have a vision that the riches of our world be held in common.
We gather excess wealth from middle & upper-class people and redistribute it to support radical working-class projects.
We pass this out via grants to projects based in Scotland, prioritising Glasgow.
Our 5-point manifesto:
- Gather & redistribute wealth to support revolutionary change
- Keep it rad & grassroots; avoid NGO-isation
- Centre working class voices, experiences & decisions in Common Treasury
- Resource Glaswegian & Scottish communities working towards radical social change
- Do political education around wealth & class
We are a cross-class collective – half our group come from wealthier backgrounds and half from working class. We take decisions collectively, but decision-making power is weighted to the working-class members of Common Treasury.
