What we wrote about them at the time...

Leading figures in the mushrooming Montréal experimental electronica scene, [The User]’s Silophone is a grain silo transformed into a musical instrument who’s unique geometry [88 tall empty cylinders, each 8m wide, 25m high] forms a series of air columns with the same acoustic properties as flutes or organ pipes. This elaborately technical performance will see the duo (of Emmanuel Madan and Thomas McIntosh) create on stage mesmeric drones which will then be ISDN´d to a PA in their silo in Montréal, creating controlled feedback and echo inside the cylinders which in turn will be ISDN’d back to our PA in Dundee, (all before you hear it) whilst 3 screens of analysis of how the sound is distorted by its journey are projected around the audience.  The most ambitious live performance you’ll see all year.
