Who:

Brandon thinks about the concepts of music or listening as ideas, and tries to apply them afresh. This obliges him to make music that doesn't feel like music, but, in some new way, is. Musician, writer, publisher and a prominent thinker about sound and its relationship to everyday life. The Echo Project Fixed duration installation, for small groups, runs eight times. 

What: The second of three projects with Brandon: The Echo project is an installation as audio guide for a crowd. And at the same time it's a private conversation: with you, as one of 20 people in a room, a sort of public intimacy.  

Why: Iain Campbell talks very eloquently about his urge to resist the corny impulse for music to be some kind of social glue – of 'us' being 'here' 'together' – without ever acknowledging the dynamics or vested interests involved in getting us all here, together31. Along similar lines, The Echo Project is a simple and playful thinking of social space, and our individual and collective experience of it through sound.
