Getting to Glasgow

By Train

Trains come into either Glasgow Central Station or Queen Street Station which are both within walking distance of The Arches. Full information on fares and timetables can be found at www.scotrail.co.uk or www.nationalexpress.com

By Bus

Buses operate from Buchanan Bus Station which is about a 15 minute walk from The Arches. Operators that come into the station are Megabus, National Express, Stagecoach, SPT

By Plane

There are two airports that serve Glasgow: Glasgow International and Glasgow Prestwick.

Glasgow International

Closer to the city centre - www.glasgowairport.com. Some main operators that fly into Glasgow International are Easy Jet, Fly Globespan, KLM, British Airways, Flybe, BMI.

The easiest way to get into the city centre from Glasgow International is by bus:

Service 500 (Glasgow Flyer Airport Express)
Services run up to every 10 minutes and journey time is 15 minutes to Glasgow Central rail station.

Service 757 (AirLink Direct Express)
Services run up to every 15 minutes and journey time from airport to the bus station is 25 minutes.

Glasgow Prestwick

Further away from the city centre - www.gpia.co.uk. The main operator that flies into Glasgow Prestwick is Ryanair from a variety of European locations.

The easiest way to get into the city centre is by train:

The railway station is accessible by a covered walkway to/from the airport. The service runs between 0548 – 2308 Monday - Saturday (every 30 minutes) and between 0850 – 2307 Sunday. The journey takes 50 minutes and terminates at Glasgow Central station.

There are also bus services:

Service X77 (Stagecoach Western Express)
Services are regular and journey time from airport to Buchanan Street bus station is 50 minutes.

Service X99 (Evening Bus Service)
This service offers passengers, who arrive on late evening flights outwith public transport times, a direct service between the airport and Glasgow Passengers are strongly recommended to pre-book tickets online or call 08712 222 883.
